Set in Melbourne’s outer east, Flunk follows an interconnected group of teenagers and young adults as they confront the messy realities of growing up. The story begins with rebellious Stella and her thoughtful best friend Ingrid, whose intense friendship is transformed when Ingrid’s hidden feelings come to the surface. As romance, jealousy, family expectations and social pressure test the people around them, private struggles quickly become impossible to keep secret.

Across eight seasons, the focus expands to new friendships and relationships while familiar characters continue to cross paths. Heidi struggles beneath a defiant exterior as she moves from her turbulent relationship with Tabby towards an unexpected connection with Saffron.
