Lilydale Films develops and produces youth-focused drama, romance, coming-of-age and LGBTQ+ films and series for streaming and international distribution. We are always interested in discovering talented writers whose work and creative interests align with the stories we regularly produce.
Unsolicited Submissions
Unfortunately, Lilydale Films cannot accept unsolicited scripts, treatments, concepts, pitch documents, synopses or other creative materials.
Please do not send complete or partial screenplays, story ideas, character descriptions or attachments unless a member of our team has specifically requested them. Any unsolicited creative material received may be deleted without being read or reviewed.
This policy protects both writers and Lilydale Films from potential misunderstandings regarding projects that may contain similar themes, characters, settings or story elements.
Expressions of Interest from Writers
Although we cannot accept unsolicited scripts, we welcome introductions from professional and emerging screenwriters who are interested in being considered for future writing opportunities.
We are particularly interested in hearing from writers with experience or a strong interest in:
- Youth and young-adult drama
- Romance and relationship-driven stories
- Coming-of-age films and series
- LGBTQ+ stories and characters
- Contemporary, character-focused drama
- Low-budget feature films with contained, producible concepts
Our productions are typically performance-driven and created within efficient independent production models. We value writers who can develop emotionally engaging characters, strong relationship dynamics and compelling stories that can be produced practically without sacrificing their emotional or dramatic impact.
How to Introduce Yourself
Writers may contact us with a brief professional introduction that includes:
- Your name and location
- A short biography
- Your writing experience or relevant credits
- The genres and formats you are interested in writing
- A link to your website, profile, produced work or professional portfolio
- Details of any representation, where applicable
Please do not include an original script, treatment, synopsis, pitch deck or detailed story proposal with your initial introduction.
Where a writer appears suited to an upcoming project, Lilydale Films may contact them to discuss the opportunity and formally request relevant writing samples or other materials. An introduction does not guarantee a response, meeting or future engagement, but suitable writers may be retained for consideration as new projects are developed.
Representation and Industry Referrals
Scripts submitted through a recognised literary agent, manager, producer, entertainment lawyer or other established industry contact may be considered by prior arrangement. Representatives should contact Lilydale Films before sending any creative materials.
