Synopsis
Outspoken and fiercely independent, Artemisia is accustomed to approaching life on her own terms. But when she begins spending time with Daisy, a talented young musician whose confidence and creativity immediately intrigue her, Artemisia finds herself confronting feelings she has never fully understood. As their friendship grows increasingly intimate, she must decide whether she is ready to lower her defences, explore a new side of herself and risk being honest about what she wants.
At the same time, Kerri and Beth are discovering that beginning a relationship is easier than learning how to sustain one. Their new romance is tested when impulsive Kerri attempts to buy drugs from Brayden, placing her at odds with the thoughtful and cautious Beth. What initially appears to be a reckless decision develops into a deeper conflict about trust, honesty and whether affection can survive when two people have very different ideas about boundaries and responsibility.
Tender, youthful and emotionally authentic, Detention with Daisy is an 80-minute LGBTQ+ coming-of-age romance set within the Flunk universe. Following two interconnected relationships at pivotal stages, the film explores first attraction, peer pressure and the difficult choices that accompany growing up.
