Lilydale Films has commenced production on the romantic drama Lockdown Lovers.

The feature film stars Canadian actor Kate Mayhew (Float), Australian newcomer Stevie McKeon and Lin Yin (The Portable Door, Love In Bloom). 

Written by Danny Spring (Hunter Street, World’s End) and directed by Ric Forster (Flunk, LifeSpam) the film is being shot in studio and on location in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. Melanie Rowland is producing.

Lockdown Lovers – Set in Melbourne during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kristal (Kate Mayhew) is enjoying the last few days of her trip to Australia when she meets Lisette (Stevie McKeon) on a night out in the city. The pair are saying farewell after a one-night stand, when news of Melbourne’s border closure reaches them – unable to return to Canada Kristal accepts Lisette’s invitation to stay with her during the citywide lockdown. Can these two perfect strangest survive a month together or will their differences drive them apart?

Director Ric Forster comments “I’m excited to be back on set working with two amazing lead actors. Stevie and Kate have such natural chemistry which has translated to an onscreen couple I’m sure audiences will fall in love with.”

Lockdown Lovers is the latest feature film in the Young Adult Romance genre for Lilydale Films, having recently wrapped on the fourth season of TV series FLUNK.
